In order to meet the ever-changing needs and preferences of users, the design of existing websites should be regularly updated, and for new ones - to be created taking into account current trends. Trends in web design suggest what can be expected this year and what the time has come to give up.
The "fashion" in web design is not as dynamic as it is in clothing, and therefore many trends are sustainable and remain relevant for at least several years in a row. As an example we will point out the wide-format background photos and video, flat-design, the refusal of photos of goods and following the mobile first rule when creating the adaptive design - all of them can be said with positive that they will keep their positions this year.
Several other trends can be classified as popular and relevant - the active use of animated elements using HTML5 and CSS3, the widespread use of jQuery, as well as the so-called "card design". In the interest of truth, with regard to the latter, it can be mentioned that he is beginning to retreat from his positions - he is faced with the complexity and challenge of presenting the hierarchy of information, separating the main from the secondary.
The expected trends in web design are generally concentrated around the positive user experience. A primary task is the need for websites to provide a convenient environment in which visitors, regardless of their experience in interacting with different websites, can quickly and conveniently obtain the desired information or perform the desired action.
